Steelers expected to keep Todd Haley

Despite a disappointing season, the offensive coordinator is expected to get at least one more year in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley is expected to be retained by the team for another year, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The team made the decision after Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met with his coaching staff.

Haley's job security dwindled early in the year when the Steelers sputtered to a 2-6 start and reports surfaced that he was clashing with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Things got better down the stretch, when Haley loosened up his offense and allowed Roethlisberger more playcalling freedom. As a result, the Steelers surged to an 8-8 finish and nearly made the playoffs in Week 17. Pittsburgh's offense ranked 20th in the league, but Roethlisberger had one of his best seasons yet while rookie Le'Veon Bell emerged as a workhorse back, buying Haley another year in the Steel City.

Haley just finished his second year as Pittsburgh's offensive coordinator. He previously served as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs for three seasons, amassing a 19-26 record.
