Former head coach Bill Cowher is once again taking himself out of the running for head coaching jobs. Speaking on CBS’ “This Morning,” Cowher said, “I’ve never closed the door, but it’s highly unlikely any time in the near future you’ll see my coach.”
Bill Cowher not expected to return to coaching anytime soon
The former Steelers coach isn’t closing the door on a return to coaching, but says it probably won’t happen anytime soon.

Cowher's name has been floated for nearly every coaching vacancy since leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2007. He joined CBS' The NFL Today and it's been almost an annual tradition for him to debunk coaching rumors. ESPN's Jon Gruden is going through the same tradition, having also taken his name out of the hat recently.
Cowher spent 15 years with the Steelers, winning a Super Bowl in 2005 and leading them to another appearance in 1995. He sports a 149-90-1 record with the Steelers in that timespan. Despite his insistence that he's done coaching for now, expect another round of rumors when new jobs open up at this time next year.
