Giants will interview Dowell Loggains for OC position

New York will take a look at Loggains during an interview on Wednesday, trying to fix what is a broken offense.

The New York Giants are searching for a new offensive coordinator following the retirement of longtime coach Kevin Gilbride, who helped bring two Super Bowl titles to the franchise.

One of the candidates is Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, according to ESPN's Ed Werder. Loggains is searching for work after the Titans decided not to keep head coach Mike Munchak. Loggains spent the past season and a half as offensive coordinator and had four previous campaigns with the Titans as a quality control and quarterbacks coach.

Loggains is only 33 years old and could be a fit with Big Blue, but he will have plenty of competition for the position. There has been plenty of talk about Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan as being the leader in the clubhouse.

Sullivan worked under Tom Coughlin from 2004-11 on the Giants staff before leaving to take over Tampa Bay’s offense in 2012. He now finds himself on the street after the coaching staff was jettisoned following a tough season for the Buccaneers, who finished 4-12.
