New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham is active for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions. Graham was listed as questionable on the official injury report with a shoulder injury that he sustained in Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he missed practice leading up to the game.
Jimmy Graham will play vs. Detroit Lions
Drew Brees will have his top target back in the lineup.
The Saints’ bye last week was apparently all Graham needed to get back on the field. The 27-year-old tight end has been excellent this season, but he caught just two passes for 36 yards before sustaining the injury against the Buccaneers.
Graham currently leads the Saints with 34 receptions for 376 yards and three touchdowns. He’s not producing the numbers he had in recent seasons, but the Saints are struggling as a whole much more than last year. Quarterback Drew Brees is even struggling, with nine touchdowns against six interceptions on the year.
Whatever the case, having Graham is always a positive, especially against a team like the Lions, who have been excellent against the pass this year. Detroit allows just 197.2 passing yards per game on average, which is the best in the NFL.
