NFL picks and predictions, Dolphins vs. Jaguars 2014: Jacksonville looks to upset Miami
The Miami Dolphins’ defense could feast on Blake Bortles and the Jaguars’ struggling offense.
All eyes will be on rookie quarterback Blake Bortles as he looks to lead his struggling squad to its second win of the season and prove he's the man for the job. In five games, he's posted a respectable 65.5 percent completion percentage, but has struggled with five touchdowns against 10 interceptions.
Miami comes in with a middle-of-the-road defense ranked No. 15 (23 points per game allowed) to go against the Jags’ bottom-ranked offense, which has posted just 15 points per contest.
With that in mind, the experts weighed in with fond eyes for Miami on the road. The team at CBS Sports gives Miami a 7-1 edge. ESPN's panel agrees, predicting that the Dolphins will win by a 12-1 margin.
SB Nation also likes the Dolphins, this time by a 5-2 margin. Based on the trend, it’s easy to see that Jacksonville has an uphill battle and will have to pull off an upset on its home turf to come out on top.
