Thanksgiving 2014 football schedule: Seahawks at 49ers caps off football-filled Thursday
Fight off turkey fatigue with a great slate of Thanksgiving Day games.
Thanksgiving kicked off with the Chicago Bears taking on the Green Bay Packers, but there are several games still to come, both in the NFL and college. The Philadelphia Eagles kick off against the Dallas Cowboys at 4:30 p.m. on Fox. The NFC East rivalry is enhanced this year as both teams enter the game at 8-3. The winner of this game will hold a decided advantage in determining which franchise wins the division and perhaps a bye in the playoffs.
Two separate college football games kick off at 7:30 p.m. The TCU Horned Frogs challenge the in-state rival Texas Longhorns on Fox Sports 1 and the Texas A&M Aggies take on the LSU Tigers on ESPN. Texas has a grand opportunity to play spoiler against TCU, which sits just one spot out of the top four in the college football playoff rankings. Though neither the Aggies nor Tigers are alive for the playoffs, any matchup of SEC West opponents should produce great football.
Thursday is capped off with another key NFL divisional matchup as the Seattle Seahawks travel south to spoil Thanksgiving for the San Francisco 49ers at 8:25 p.m. on NBC. These teams met during last season's NFC championship game, a close-fought 23-17 affair that produced one of the NFL's most iconic playoff moments. As with the Eagles vs. Cowboys contest, the winner of this game will have the upper hand for a playoff spot.
