The year is 1981, a critical draft for the NFL. Cable television is just starting to gain traction and a two-year-old ESPN is still refining its draft coverage. New York makes its selection and Jets fans boo, because that was a thing over 30 years ago too. In an effort to round out their coverage with immediate fan reaction Leandra Reilly went upstairs to find someone who booed ... instead she got John Capolitano.
SB Nation selects ... John Capolitano, fan of no one
The NFL draft is two months away and we’re combing through the annals and selecting our favorite moments.

Capolitano was a draft analyst before his time. Two years before Mel Kiper Jr. graced the airwaves he was taking an objective, no nonsense approach to the draft.
Reilly: With me is John Capolitano. John, who are you a fan of?
Capolitano: Nobody. I have absolutely no professional team that’s a favorite of mine whatsoever of any kind.
GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULLS. JOHN LIKES NOBODY.
Maybe they vetted John before hand, but given how Reilly looks stunned it’s fairly safe to say she had no clue Capolitano was a draftnik before that was a thing.
Oh man John. You could have been a thing, John. You could have been Kiper! Instead you’re just a guy with 30 seconds of fame that Google auto-corrects out of confusion.
