It's looking as though the Chicago Bears will be without either of their big-play receivers against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. A source has told ESPN's Adam Schefter that there is a "75 percent" chance that both Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery will have to miss the game due to injury.
Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery likely out for Bears vs. 49ers
The Bears could be without their top receiving threats on Sunday.
Marshall injured his ankle last week against the Buffalo Bills but returned to the game. Jeffery injured his hamstring in that game and did not return. Both receivers were listed are listed as questionable on the team's injury report.
No. 3 receiver Marquess Wilson is still recovering from a broken collarbone and his replacement, Josh Morgan, is doubtful with a groin injury. The Bears promoted two receivers from their practice squad this week to provide more bodies at the position.
ESPN reports that Santonio Holmes will draw the start at the No. 1 spot if neither Marshall or Jeffery can go. It's unclear who will start at the No. 2 slot.
