Monday Night Football, Bears vs. Jets: Bears knock off New York on the road

The Chicago Bears asked for a review before a Nick Folk field goal, and he had to wait on the field while the refs told Bears head coach Marc Trestman he couldn’t have one. When it was Foles’ time to kick, he got DOWN:

Not fully clear what he was asking for -- raise the net? Reset the play clock? -- but either way, we are pretending he had a one-handed, roof-raising party:

The refs cost the New York Jets a defensive touchdown Monday night.

Down 17-13 late in the second quarter, Jets linebacker David Harris sacked Jay Cutler by his feet, causing the Bears quarterback to seemingly fumble the ball.

Tim Tebow played in 12 games for the Jets, primarily as a punt protector, and threw eight passes. This was in 2012, and he hasn’t played in the NFL since. And yet, tonight, at Monday Night Football:

Is this better or worse than holding on to Tebow in fantasy football?

OddsShark lists the Jets as 2.5-point favorites, but the majority of experts are leaning toward Chicago. Eleven of ESPN’s 13 panelists are going with the Bears (Mike Ditka included, unsurprisingly), and five of CBS’ eight panelists agree. Not included in that number is CBS senior columnist Pete Prisco, who has the Jets winning 20-17.

“Playing consecutive road games is tough to do in the NFL, and that’s what the Bears are doing here,” Prisco writes. “The Jets did some good things last week at Green Bay to keep it close. I think they will win a tight one here -- unless somebody calls a bad timeout.”

Below, we’ll take a closer look at both teams.

But the Bears can’t rely on huge comebacks like that going forward. They didn’t have one against the Bills and the Jets happen to be playing some strong defense at this point in the season.
