Blown fumble call costs Jets a touchdown
A blown fumble call Monday night cost the Jets a touchdown and a chance to take the lead late in the first half against the Chicago Bears.

Down 17-13 late in the second quarter, Jets linebacker David Harris sacked Jay Cutler by his feet, causing the Bears quarterback to seemingly fumble the ball.

The Jets picked up the ball and would have run it in for a score to put them ahead, but the play was blown dead. After a review, it was determined that Cutler did indeed fumble and the Jets were given possession. Since the play was blown dead, the Jets only received possession and not credit for advancing the ball. Had officials instead ruled it a fumble on the field, the New York defense would have scored. New York’s offense wasn’t able to do anything on the ensuing drive, creating a seven-point swing for the Bears.
