The New England Patriots (2-1) and Kansas City Chiefs (1-2) will meet on Monday Night Football at Arrowhead Stadium to wrap up Week 4 of the NFL schedule. If the game goes as most NFL experts expect, it will be New England coming away with a nice road win.
Patriots vs. Chiefs 2014 picks and predictions: New England expected to win
The Patriots have not looked dominant this season, but experts still like them over a weakened Chiefs team.
The Patriots come in as road favorites and deservedly so. New England is riding a two-game winning streak after beating the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders. However, things have not been pretty. Oakland was driving at Gillette Stadium with a chance to tie the game before a questionable holding penalty wiped out the tying score. Tom Brady has struggled some. He's completing less than 60 percent of his passes, the Patriots rank last in yards per play and explosive plays have been rare.
The Chiefs are coming off their best performance of the season and are getting a little healthier. Jamaal Charles is expected to play on Monday night after sitting out last week. Alex Smith led an efficient offensive attack last week in the win against Miami. More of the same could help the Chiefs foil the experts’ picks.
Over at USA Today, all seven experts are siding with the Patriots to walk out with a victory. Neil Greenberg of the Washington Post picked the Chiefs, citing New England’s allowance of a league-high 44 pressures on Tom Brady. Five of the eight men of CBS Sports see Kansas City covering the spread, but only John Breech believes the Chiefs will win outright at home.
Here at SB Nation, the Patriots are getting love as evidenced below, although some do believe in Kansas City. For all of our NFL Week 4 picks, go here.

Kansas City is injured, but is in the process of turning its season around after a 34-15 beating of the Miami Dolphins last Sunday. The Chiefs were surprisingly blown out at home in the season opener, 26-10 by the Tennessee Titans, and lost All-Pro linebacker Derrick Johnson and Mike DeVito to Achilles injuries. The following week, the Chiefs lost Charles and Eric Berry early against the Denver Broncos with ankle sprains, yet fell just a couple yards short of knotting the contest at Mile High.
