Super Bowl 2015 betting: Prop bets for the Patriots

A preview of some betting props for the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has received plenty of negative press in recent weeks for his potential involvement in DeflateGate, but you can bet that he will be ready to lead his Patriots against the Seahawks.

Actually, you can bet on that and dozens of other Super Bowl props related to the studly New England quarterback.

Such as, what will Brady do first on Sunday -- throw a touchdown pass or an interception? Throwing a touchdown pass is a -190 favorite on the Super Bowl XLIX props, while throwing an interception first would pay +155.

Brady’s number of total completions is set at 23.5 (Over -130, Under +100) and his total touchdown passes line is set at 2.0 (Over and Under both -115).

Public fascination is so great that you can even bet how many times his model wife will be shown on television during the game (over under 1.5).

Will Julian Edelman or Rob Gronkowski get the lion’s share of the receiving yards in New England’s offense Sunday? One prop bet at the sportsbooks allows bettors to take Edelman at +7.5 receiving yards or Gronkowski at -7.5 receiving yards in a head-to-head battle between Brady’s two favorite targets.

Bettors can also bet on which weapon will have more completions, with Edelman going off at -130 and Gronkowski going off at +100.

The New England Patriots are 2-for-2 on fourth-down conversions so far this postseason after going 7-for-13 (53.8 percent) during the regular season. Will the Patriots convert on a fourth down against Seattle in the Super Bowl? “Yes” is going off at +130 at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com while “no” is the favorite at -160. Picking up a first down due to a penalty does count as a “yes.”

No New England Super Bowl prop collection is complete without props on head coach Bill Belichick’s hoodie. One prop allows bettors to bet on which color the coach’s hoodie will be -- Grey (-120), Blue (+100) or Red (+750).

Bettors can also bet on whether the sleeves on Belichick’s hoodie will be cut (-175) or intact (+135). Bets will be graded as no action if Belichick is not wearing a hoodie for Super Bowl XLIX.
