Lions vs. Cowboys 2015 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch NFL playoffs online
The Lions are back in the playoffs for just the second time in the past 14 seasons.
The Dallas Cowboys are back in the playoffs after a four-year hiatus, and they'll face off against the Detroit Lions in the Wild Card round this Sunday. Despite the Cowboys earning a 12-4 record and an NFC East title, it wasn't enough to get them a first-round bye in the top-heavy NFC. They do get to host the Lions, but Jerry World hasn't given the Cowboys a big advantage this season, with all four of their losses coming at home.
The Lions (11-5) had a chance at the NFC North crown and first-round bye until they fell to the Green Bay Packers in Week 17. Still, this has been a nice bounce-back year after Detroit went 7-9 last year and fired head coach Jim Schwartz. Jim Caldwell has come in and transformed this once offensive juggernaut into a defensive force. Detroit went from 16th in total defense in 2013 to second in 2014, and in nine of their 11 wins, the Lions allowed 17 points or fewer.
The Lions' No. 1-ranked run defense will face the daunting task of stopping the top-ranked Dallas rushing offense, led by MVP candidate DeMarco Murray. Detroit only allows 69.3 rushing yards per game, but Murray has gone for more than 100 yards 12 times this season on his way to a league-leading 1,845 yards. Stopping him is a must for Detroit, which has not won a playoff game since 1991.
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will start in just his fifth playoff game. He enters with a 1-3 record in the postseason, but he's having arguably the best season of his career. Romo finished the regular season with a career-high 82.7 QBR while throwing for 34 touchdowns against just nine interceptions.
