Panthers vs. Seahawks 2015 picks and predictions: Experts all taking Seattle, despite records

The Panthers are undefeated and the Seahawks are 2-3, but almost all experts believe it will be Seattle that comes away with a Week 6 victory.

Only five undefeated teams remain and the Carolina Panthers sit alone atop the NFC South after the Atlanta Falcons lost on Thursday night. Still, the Panthers aren't getting much respect for their accomplishments, and most experts think the Seattle Seahawks will deal them their first loss of the season.

The Seahawks are notoriously tough to beat at home and, despite their 2-3 start, are 2-0 at CenturyLink Field with all three losses coming on the road. For the Panthers, it’s the first true test of the season after beating four teams that all have losing records through the first five weeks.

While Cam Newton is playing at an MVP level, it hasn't been against a top-flight defense like Seattle's. Still, the Seahawks have looked far more vulnerable than in previous seasons, and even allowed 331 yards passing to Andy Dalton of the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5. Prior to that, it had been more than two years since a quarterback tallied more than 300 yards against the Seahawks.

Newton will have to pull off similar heroics to down the Seahawks, as the Panthers enter as 7.5-point underdogs despite the much better record.

At CBS Sports, all eight panelists are taking the Seahawks to win, and at ESPN all but two experts are siding with Seattle as well. The lone experts taking the Panthers in Week 6 are Keyshawn Johnson and Mike Ditka.

All of SB Nation’s team is siding with the Seahawks, as well, including the OddsShark computer, which is projecting a Seattle victory.
