Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins is officially active for the team’s Week 6 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Watkins is back in action after missing two games.
Sammy Watkins makes return against Bengals
The second-year receiver is making his return after missing two games with a calf injury.

Watkins suffered a strained calf in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins. He got in limited practices this week and was listed as questionable on the injury report, although Watkins was expecting to play. He has just seven catches for 99 yards and a touchdown, and recently expressed his desire to get more targets in the offense.
Watkins was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He battled multiple nagging injuries in his rookie season, but played in all 16 games and put up 65 catches for 982 yards and six touchdowns.
Buffalo’s offense has been ravaged by injuries this season. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor has already been ruled out, meaning that EJ Manuel will get the start in Week 6. Running backs LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams have also missed time with injuries, although McCoy will return on Sunday and Williams will sit out again.
The Bills’ 3-2 record can be credited to a strong defense and Taylor’s heroics, although the offense could see a major downgrade with Manuel under center.
