Jason Pierre-Paul is set to meet with the New York Giants for a check-up on his hand and possibly negotiate a deal that would pave the way for the defensive end's return to the field, according to FOX's Jay Glazer.
Jason Pierre-Paul expected to meet with Giants this week, per report
Pierre-Paul is still not under contract with the Giants after choosing not to sign his franchise tender.

The meeting is right on schedule for Pierre-Paul, who was expected to meet up with the Giants after Week 6 and previously met with the team in early September. Although Glazer reported that the meeting will take place on Tuesday, Dan Graziano of ESPN said that the two sides will convene later this week:
Update on Jason Pierre-Paul: He is NOT in NY/NJ today. Still expected to meet with Giants docs at some point this week, but not yet.
— Dan Graziano (@DanGrazianoESPN) October 21, 2015 NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, however, reported the meeting might not take place this week after all:
There are no set plans for a JPP visit with #Giants yet, I’m told. It’ll happen, but it may not be this week. Could stretch into next week
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) October 21, 2015 Pierre-Paul is still not under contract and hasn’t signed the franchise tender that was given to him during the offseason.
Pierre-Paul has been rehabbing from a fireworks accident that resulted in the amputation of a finger and other damage to his hand, including missing the tip of another finger, but he has been optimistic that he’ll be ready to return and contribute for the Giants. According to Glazer, he asked if Nike could design him a specialty glove for his injured hand, but was denied because he still isn’t under contract with the team.
While still not signed with the team, Pierre-Paul can’t actually practice with the team or prepare to contribute, although he has been rehabbing on his own accord.
Pierre-Paul has 42 career sacks in five seasons, including 12.5 in 2014, and earned Pro Bowl honors in 2011 and 2012.
