Star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is expected to play Monday night when the New York Giants travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles, according to Mark Eckel of NJ Advanced Media. Unless Beckham suffers a setback during pregame warmups, Eli Manning will have this top target on the field for the key NFC East matchup.
Odell Beckham Jr. active for Monday night vs. Eagles
Unless there’s a setback during warmups, the Giants’ top receiver will be on the field for the NFC East matchup in Philadelphia. He’s officially active for the game.
Beckham was not listed on the pregame inactives list, which means he should play on Monday.
Beckham was listed as questionable due to a hamstring injury he suffered last Sunday night against the 49ers. He had swelling in his hamstring area last Sunday night but an MRI on Monday did not reveal any major damage. Wide receiver Rueben Randle, who is also nursing a hamstring injury, is expected to play, as well.
Although Beckham did not practice much during the week, head coach Tom Coughlin told reporters that Beckham was "making good progress." The wide receiver was also seen doing some side work on Thursday.
Beckham has caught 31 balls for 428 yards this season, both team highs. He's also been targeted by quarterback Eli Manning 52 times. Larry Donnell, second on the team in targets, has only been thrown to 30 times.
The Giants have won three games in a row after dropping their first two games of the year. The Eagles come into Monday night’s NFC East showdown at 2-3.
The Giants will face another NFC East rival, the Cowboys, in Week 7.
