Sam Bradford's time with the Philadelphia Eagles hasn't gotten off to the best start, but after a rough 0-2 record early, he's bounced back with a pair of solid performances to lead the team to a 2-3 record and a chance at the top spot in the NFC East on Monday night.
Sam Bradford’s chance to arrive as Eagles QB comes vs. Giants
Bradford hasn’t been much different than Nick Foles, but a game against the Giants could be his time to shine.

But even in a 39-17 win over the New Orleans Saints and a three-touchdown performance against Washington that included a 62-yard bomb to Riley Cooper, Bradford hasn't yet had the type of game to justify the trade that sent Nick Foles and a second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to the St. Louis Rams for a more expensive and possibly more injury-prone quarterback.
If anything, Bradford has been close to exactly the same quarterback that Chip Kelly sent away to St. Louis in exchange for what he thought was an upgrade, but with fewer wins.
| Through 5 games | Rec. | Comp. | Att. | Yards | TDs | INTs | Rating |
| Nick Foles (2014) | 4-1 | 120 | 203 | 1,380 | 8 | 5 | 82.5 |
| Sam Bradford (2015) | 2-3 | 120 | 190 | 1,281 | 8 | 6 | 83.7 |
That’s not to say the 2-3 record is Bradford’s fault. The defense is No. 22 in the NFL and the revamped backfield managed just 70 rushing yards in the first two weeks before finally getting going and averaging 132 yards per game in the last three games.
Even though his last two games showed a lot of good things, he just hasn’t yet had a game to announce his arrival as the leader of what looked to be the NFL’s most explosive offense in preseason.
Luckily for Bradford, the New York Giants could help that.
Despite the No. 2 rushing defense in the NFL, the Giants are No. 27 in total yards thanks to a putrid pass defense. New York has given up at least 250 yards passing in each week and will be without Prince Amukamara on Monday night.
While establishing some running room and continuing to establish DeMarco Murray as a threat after signing him to a five-year, $40 million in the offseason is a priority, it will be on Bradford to step out and show he was worth acquiring.
