The rivalry between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers doesn't have the same gloss as usual when the two teams meet in Week 7, but it's a crucial game for both teams looking to climb from the cellar of the NFC West.
Seahawks vs. 49ers 2015 picks and predictions: Experts taking Seattle to dominate San Francisco
The 49ers are near the bottom of the NFL in both offense and defense, while the Seahawks have led in the fourth quarter of every week.
In the last five seasons, the Seahawks have earned three NFC West crowns, while the 49ers have earned two. But six weeks into the 2015 season, it's the Arizona Cardinals with a two-game lead over the pair of 2-4 teams who both enter the week desperate for a win.
The last time the Seahawks traveled to San Francisco, it was also on a Thursday night, and while Richard Sherman is among the chorus of NFL players who don’t like Thursday Night Football games, it was Seattle that dominated defensively in a 19-3 victory on Thanksgiving.
Despite the 2-4 record for the Seahawks, the team has led in the fourth quarter of all six games, while the 49ers have already endured blowout losses to the Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Seahawks enter Week 7 with the NFL's No. 4 defense and No. 15 offense, while the 49ers are in the bottom three in both categories.
That’s likely why almost every expert is pegging the Seahawks to extend their winning streak over the 49ers to four -- dating back to a win in the 2013 NFC Championship.
At CBS Sports, all eight panelists are taking the Seahawks to snap a two-game skid and it's the same with SB Nation's team, as well. The sole expert on the panel picking against the Seahawks, is Matt Ufford, who went with "FML" instead.
