Miami Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake is done for the year after suffering an Achilles tendon tear against the New England Patriots on Thursday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Cameron Wake done for the year with torn Achilles
Cameron Wake left Thursday’s game against the Patriots with an injury and had to be carted off to the locker room.

Wake went down in the third quarter and had to be helped up and off the field by the trainers. He was not able to put any weight on his left leg and once he made it to the sideline, he was taken to the locker room on the cart. The Dolphins announced Wake would not return to the game due to an Achilles injury.
As you can see in the play below, Wake appeared to suffer the injury early but refused to go down and finished the play trying to get after Patriots quarterback Tom Brady:
Wake is a crucial part of Miami's defensive front. He's an above-average pass-rusher who already had seven sacks on the season, including four of them against the Tennessee Titans, before the season-ending injury. Despite zero sacks through the first four games of the season, Wake climbed to second in the NFL after Joe Philbin was fired and is only behind Chandler Jones in total sacks in 2015.
He has been with the Dolphins since 2009, and has 255 tackles, 69 sacks, 16 forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 99 career games. Miami's defensive line was expected to be one of the league's best this season thanks to Wake and the offseason addition of Ndamukong Suh.
