Cowboys vs. Saints 2015 picks and predictions: Experts primarily favor Dallas

Experts are primarily favoring the Cowboys against the Saints, but the latter team is not without supporters.

Both the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints had to field backup quarterbacks in Week 3, and both teams walked away with a loss. Brandon Weeden and Luke McCown played well at times, but neither was able to secure the win and neither team is looking great heading into their Week 4 matchup Sunday night. Weeden will once again get the start for the Cowboys as Tony Romo sits with injury, but the Saints got a bit of good news on Friday.

That good news: Drew Brees is back starting, as Sean Payton said he is healthy enough to play. The Saints have lost all three games this season, including the two that Brees started, but he certainly gives them more scoring opportunities than McCown. It's worth noting, of course, that McCown wasn't the issue in Week 3, as he completed 31 of 38 passes for 310 yards with an interception.

He didn't find the end zone though, and that's something that Brees obviously has a big history of doing. Brees is just two touchdowns shy of hitting the 400 career touchdown milestone. There's a chance he'll be able to do that in Week 4, but the Cowboys are a tough team overall. They weren't really dominated by the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3, and downed both the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles in their first two games.

The Cowboys aren't just hurting at quarterback. Dez Bryant is still dealing with injuries, so Weeden is working with limited weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Joseph Randle had a strong game, though, and if the Cowboys can win this, it will likely depend on Randle having another big day running the football.

As far as the experts are concerned, it’s hardly definitive. CBS Sports has eight experts picking, and five of them are going with the Cowboys to win it. Over at ESPN, 10 of the 13 experts are also picking the Cowboys to pick up their third win of the season.

Here at SB Nation, the experts are also somewhat divided. Of the seven picking, four are going with the Cowboys, while the other three, plus the OddsShark computer, are going with the Saints.
