Philadelphia Eagles running back DeMarco Murray is expected to return to the lineup for Sunday’s Week 4 game against Washington, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Murray missed last week’s win over the New York Jets after suffering a hamstring injury in practice two weeks ago.
DeMarco Murray expected to play in Week 4 vs. Washington
Murray is supposed to make his return against Washington after missing last week with a hamstring injury.

He was listed as questionable on this week’s injury report, but still got in full practices on Thursday and Friday. Murray will still test his hamstring out in pregame warmups, according to Albert Breer of NFL Network.
Murray has been a disappointment for the Eagles after signing a five-year, $40 million contract with $21 million guaranteed in the offseason. Through the two games he played, Murray has rushed 21 times for just 11 yards and a touchdown, averaging a pitiful 0.5 yards per carry. He acquitted himself somewhat in the passing game, grabbing nine catches for 64 yards and a receiving touchdown.
The Eagles offensive line has been somewhat to blame for Murray’s struggles, but Philadelphia clearly needs a better return on its investment. Ryan Mathews was more than capable filling in for Murray last week, recording 128 total yards and a touchdown on 26 touches. Although Murray is active, he could find himself on a short leash as Philly looks to jump start its offense. The two could end up in a committee against Washington’s surprisingly strong run defense, with Darren Sproles mixing in on specific packages.
