Ryan Mallett's day against the Atlanta Falcons ended in the third quarter and Brian Hoyer is taking over for the Houston Texans down 42-0.
Brian Hoyer takes over for Ryan Mallett vs. Falcons
Mallett completed fewer than half of his passes before he was finally pulled down 42-0 to the Falcons.

The Texans fell behind early to the Falcons and struggled to do anything on offense with Mallett leading the way, although he didn’t get any help from the team’s rushing offense. In Arian Foster’s return to the lineup after missing the first three games due to injury, he has posted just 10 rushing yards on eight attempts.
Mallett was 12-of-27 passing for 150 yards with no touchdowns and an interception in the game before he was replaced by Hoyer, who began the season as the starter for the Texans. Hoyer started in a Week 1 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and completed 18 of 34 passes for 236 yards with one touchdown and one interception, but was replaced by Mallett in Week 2.
The two players had a close quarterback battle during the offseason that ended with Hoyer being named the starter in an episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks.
