Dallas Cowboys running back Lance Dunbar will miss the rest of the season due to a torn ACL and MCL, an MRI confirmed on Monday, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Dunbar left Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints with a left knee injury after his knee buckled under him as he twisted while returning the second-half kickoff.
Lance Dunbar out for season with torn ACL, per report
Lance Dunbar was injured on a kickoff return at the beginning of the second half in Week 4 and is lost for the year.

Dunbar was barely able to put any weight on his left leg as he was helped off the field, and was carted back to the locker room after a brief examination on the sidelines. He sustained a season-ending injury to his left knee in Nov. 2013.
Dunbar had been used almost entirely as a receiver and kick returner in Dallas’ first three games, catching 21 passes for 215 yards while only carrying the ball twice. Against the Saints, though, he broke a 45-yard run in the first quarter, setting up a Cowboys’ field goal.
With the injury, the Cowboys will likely have to rely more on Christine Michael, who was acquired in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks in September. Running backs Joseph Randle and Darren McFadden have taken the majority of the carries for the team so far in 2015.
The injury occurred in Dunbar’s hometown. He was born in New Orleans and lived there until Hurricane Katrina, when his family moved to Texas.
