The St. Louis Rams have had an interesting season thus far, winning close games against the NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals, but losing games to teams like Washington. The Rams have been teetering on the edge of being a breakout team for a few years now, and Jeff Fisher's team now sits at 4-4, a familiar spot for the head coach.
Bears vs. Rams 2015 live stream: Game time, TV schedule and how to watch online
Both the Bears and Rams have been inconsistent this season.
So far, the Rams have played each of their division rivals, and they have beaten all of them. Teams in that division have a history of building specifically to beat their rivals, and the Rams are no different. They match up well against the Cardinals, Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers, but the only non-divisional team they have beaten this year is the Cleveland Browns.
Many figured the Rams were good enough to beat Washington, and many thought they had a chance against the Minnesota Vikings in their last game. But the Rams are now coming off a loss to the Vikings, and return home to play host to the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
The Bears are 3-5 on the year, but are coming off a win over the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football. Chicago struggled through a pair of games without quarterback Jay Cutler earlier in the season, losing both games that Jimmy Clausen played in. Those games were losses to the Cardinals and Seahawks, teams the Rams were able to handle.
Chicago does have a handful of quality wins, taking down the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs, but it had nothing to offer the Green Bay Packers, Cardinals or Seahawks. Most recently, it dropped games against the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings before beating the Chargers.
The Bears rank 23rd in the league in total offense, and eighth in the league in total defense. They've done a much better job on that side of the ball, especially given Cutler's injury. However, Matt Forte could miss his second straight game with a knee injury.
If Forte can't go, the Bears will turn to rookie Jeremy Langford again. St. Louis has done well against good quarterbacks this year, and Cutler could have his hands full. Much has been made about Cutler's bad contract in Chicago, but he's having a solid season thus far.
He's completed 62.8 percent of his passes for 1,787 yards with 10 touchdowns and five interceptions. Forte is averaging 4.0 yards per carry and has a couple touchdowns, while Langford has found the end zone three times.
The Bears will need to play a clean game, something they haven’t been able to do this season. They rank 18th in the league in turnover differential, with nine takeaways and 10 giveaways. The Rams are much better in that vein, with a plus-4 differential, good for seventh in the league alongside a couple other teams.
