Brandon Marshall will play vs. Jaguars

Brandon Marshall will play through ankle and toe injuries against the Jaguars on Sunday.

New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall is active and will play against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Marshall has been banged up this season, and was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report with ankle and toe injuries, but wasn't listed among the team's inactives for the game.

Marshall returned to team practice on Thursday, and also participated in Friday's session. With no setbacks during either session, Marshall was expected to play in Sunday's game. The Jets are coming off a very shocking loss to the Oakland Raiders and have lost two straight. Marshall will definitely be a sight for sore eyes when it comes to quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is dealing with his own injuries.

It's been an excellent season for Marshall. He's caught 50 passes for 686 yards with four touchdowns on the season. He's playing in his 10th NFL season, and has eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving seven times in his NFL career, missing only his rookie season in 2006 and last year with the Chicago Bears. He's well on his way to reaching 1,000 yards again, provided injuries don't get in the way.

The Jets have had a surprisingly strong team this season, but the offense has been lackluster at times. They rank 18th in the league in passing yards even with Marshall’s strong play. Still, they would have definitely been much worse off if he were unable to play.
