With the Cowboys trailing by seven, the Dallas Cowboys called the “have Matt Cassel sprint around aimlessly for 10 seconds, hurl the ball up, and have Dez Bryant high-point it in a crowd of seven players” play.
Dez Bryant is the answer to Matt Cassel’s prayers
Matt Cassel just chucked the ball up. Dez caught it, the first TD of his year.
It worked. They should call that play more often. This tied the game up at 21, just a possession after Cassel threw a pick-6.
It’s the first TD catch of Bryant’s season after missing most of the year with a broken bone in his foot. Look at how high Bryant got to make the catch.
At the end of the play, Byron Maxwell punched the ball out of Dez’s hands, making everybody wonder if this was the redux of the controversial play from the end of the Cowboys’ loss to the Packers. But Bryant had both feet down with the ball and possession.
It was a catch! An NFL player caught a ball and the NFL ruled it was a catch. That’s a minor miracle these days.
