Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon ruled out vs. Falcons

Yeldon will be replaced in the lineup by Denard Robinson who played well in the rookie’s absence in Week 14.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without running back T.J. Yeldon when the team plays the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday due to a knee injury suffered in Week 14, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Yeldon, 22, told reporters on Wednesday that he suffered a sprained MCL in a win over the Indianapolis Colts, and after not practicing all week, the rookie running back was listed as doubtful to play on Sunday. Yeldon missed one game earlier in the year with a groin injury, but has started in the other 12 games this season.

With Yeldon out of the lineup, the Jaguars will turn to Denard Robinson to handle the rushing duties, and he will be backed up by Bernard Pierce. The former Michigan quarterback has nine career starts at running back for the Jaguars and tallied 75 rushing yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries in relief of Yeldon in Week 14.

Yeldon, a second-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, leads the Jaguars with 740 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He has also been a help out of the backfield with 279 receiving yards and at least one reception in each one of his starts.
