An illness that kept Tom Brady out of practice on Friday will not keep him out of the New England Patriots lineup against the Tennessee Titans, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Tom Brady expected to play through illness vs. Titans
Brady’s streak of regular season starts will increase to 110 and won’t be stopped because of an illness.
Brady, 38, was listed as questionable by the Patriots for Week 15 after coming down with an illness, although most expected him to play. Since taking over the starting duties for New England in 2001, Brady has only missed time during the 2008 season when he suffered ACL and MCL tears. During the 109-game starting streak since 2008, Brady has often appeared on the Patriots injury report, but hasn’t been pulled from the starting lineup.
While many of the offensive weapons for the Patriots have missed time or are done for the season due to injuries, Brady still leads the NFL in passing yards with 4,138 and touchdowns with 33. He is not expected to have Julian Edelman back for Week 15, as the receiver is still recovering from a broken foot suffered in Week 10.
The Patriots already clinched the AFC East title and are in the lead for the No. 1 seed in the AFC, but haven't yet clinched a first-round bye in the postseason with both the Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals just one game behind with three games left to play.
