Alshon Jeffery, C.J. Anderson lead NFL injury report for Week 15

Both players are active, and so is Tom Brady, despite an illness.

Throughout the season, SB Nation Medical Expert Dr. Ali Mohamadi provides his insights on the most notable injuries on the NFL landscape and how they might affect your fantasy roster decisions on game day. Here is a look at some key injuries and their impact for this week’s games.

After suiting up last week and going without a carry in Denver's loss to Oakland, Broncos running back C.J. Anderson appears set to go Sunday despite an ankle sprain. Anderson missed the entire week of practice prior to the Raiders game, which made it a surprise that he suited up at all. He has been back on the field this week, and based on comments from head coach Gary Kubiak, appears likely to work his way back into the Denver RB rotation. As per routine, Anderson will test the ankle in pregame warmups before this week's showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but reports are that he'll play and have a "full workload."

Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has been seemingly on and off the injury list this entire season, but he's officially active for the Bears' game Sunday against the Vikings. Jeffery was limited in practice on Wednesday and then missed entirely on Thursday; he was dealing with a lingering illness as well. He returned to the practice field to end the week.

Calf strains are notoriously prone to aggravation if an athlete tests it prior to being 100 percent healthy, so keep a close eye on Jeffrey’s progress early in Sunday’s contest.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware has been dealing with a rib injury sustained in last week's win over the Chargers. But after missing a couple of practices earlier this week, he is active for Sunday's contest with Baltimore.

Ware left early in the San Diego game and has been dealing with significant discomfort over the course of this week. When he’s on the field, he may very well be wearing a protective vest to cushion the affected area from the pain that contact is likely to produce.

Though New England quarterback Tom Brady missed practice late in the week due to an illness of his own, he is active for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans. Undoubtedly, the Patriots' medical staff will ensure Brady will counter the potential for increased fluid loss by staying well hydrated before and during the game.
