Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Jason Peters reportedly pulled himself from the Eagles' lopsided loss against Washington Saturday night that officially eliminated them from postseason contention. Philadelphia media personality Howard Eskin first tweeted the news early Sunday morning.

Philadelphia media personality Howard Eskin reports Peters pulled himself from the game against Washington because he didn’t want to risk getting hurt with the game out of reach.

Apparently Peters, who’s battled injuries all season long, removed himself from the game because he didn’t want to risk hurting himself in the fourth quarter of a contest that was already out of reach for the Eagles.
This isn't the first time Peters has allegedly pulled a stunt like this. The Pro Bowl offensive tackle reportedly removed himself from the Eagles' game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the same reason last month and also supposedly refused to serve as a backup for a contest against the Miami Dolphins.

— Les Bowen (@LesBowen) December 27, 2015 Suffice to say, Peters’ future with the Eagles is now in doubt. The 12-year veteran is owed $9 million next season, but the Eagles can save $6 million by releasing him. It’s unlikely there will be much controversy if the Eagles opt to cut ties here.
