Super Bowl 2015 rosters: Patriots, Seahawks loaded with talent

The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are loaded with talent, which might have ... something to do with the fact that they’re playing in the Super Bowl.

The New England Patriots have dealt with plenty of roster turnover over the last decade or so, but throughout all of the success they've had, quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick still being constants virtually guarantee success and a playoff berth each year. The Seattle Seahawks have carefully built a dominant defense, pouring money into a secondary that can't be matched, and are working on launching their own dynasty with a win in Super Bowl 49.

Winning the Super Bowl would give the Seahawks a rare repeat, something that hasn’t been done since Brady and Belichick did it just over a decade ago.

New England is still winning and a large part of that is because of Brady, but a lot has changed over the years. The Patriots are a bit more balanced these days, and the defensive side of the ball actually got the Patriots through many tough spots this season. Guys like Devin McCourty come to mind when you think about that defense, but overall, much of the focus is still on Brady, wide receiver Julian Edelman and tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Those guys will have to go against the biggest names on Seattle, as the players you immediately think of are all in the secondary. Cornerback Richard Sherman and safeties Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor all have legitimate claims to being the best players at their position in the NFL. Seattle has a ton of money invested in those guys. On offense, quarterback Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch come to mind.

Wilson should wind up with a huge contract this offseason, which is significant as the Seahawks have very little money committed to the quarterback position at this point, allowing them to award those big contracts on defense.

Either way, both rosters have some huge names, which just might have something to do with the fact that these two teams are ... playing in the Super Bowl. Here’s the full roster for both teams below:
