2015 NFL Draft: Panthers trade up with Rams in 2nd round
The Carolina Panthers made a move up in the second round, dealing with the St. Louis Rams.

Carolina used the draft pick on wide receiver Devin Funchess of Michigan. Seeing Carolina move up to get a receiver, possibly the team's biggest offseason need, isn't a surprise given six receivers wound up going in the first round. Prior to Carolina's pick, two receivers also had already been chosen in the second round in Devin Smith of Ohio State and Dorial Green-Beckham of Missouri.
Carolina stayed put in the first round, taking outside linebacker Shaq Thompson with the No. 25 overall pick. Thompson is one of the most-talented players in the NFL Draft, and filled an immediate need for the Panthers. Other top needs heading into the second round included offensive tackle, wide receiver, running back and defensive back. With this trade, they've addressed two of the team's biggest needs and landed two very talented players.
