With the No. 138 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected running back David Cobb of Minnesota. Cobb was a second-team All-Big Ten selection this past season after setting a school record for rushing yards in a single season with 1,626.
NFL Draft picks 2015: David Cobb drafted by Titans
The Tennessee Titans took David Cobb in the fifth round of the NFL Draft.

Cobb had several stellar performances with Minnesota, including a pair of 200-yard games last season (one against San Jose State and one against Middle Tennessee State). He finished his college career with 562 carries for 2,893 yards and 20 touchdowns, plus another 339 receiving yards.
With his 5’11, 229-pound frame, Cobb can succeed as a bell-cow type back at the next level. He has enough bulk on his frame to withstand a full workload of carries, but he’s not especially quick. One of his weaknesses is his lack of burst through the hole, though he did play with a poor offensive line at Minnesota and often made something out of nothing.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Cobb ran the 40-yard dash in 4.81 seconds, and wasn’t able to improve on that time after he strained his quad muscle and couldn’t run a second time. Cobb wasn’t healed in time for Minnesota’s pro day, so he had to stand on his Combine numbers, which included 17 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, a 38.5-inch vertical leap and a 121-inch broad jump.
