With the No. 126 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected running back Mike Davis out of South Carolina. Davis finished the 2014 season with 199 carries for 982 yards and nine touchdowns despite being limited by injuries throughout the year.
NFL Draft picks 2015: 49ers take Mike Davis in 4th round
Mike Davis lands with the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Even if he failed to best the 1,183 yards and 11 touchdowns he totaled in his sophomore season, Davis still managed 4.9 yards per carry for the Gamecocks in 2014. He also set career highs with 183 yards and three touchdowns in a stellar performance against Kentucky. In 2013, he was named a second-team All-SEC player.
On top of the injuries, there were also questions about Davis’ conditioning in 2014. He didn’t look as fast, struggled to find his running lanes and went down quicker than he did in 2013. All of that caused his draft stock to drop, but he’s still a talented, downhill runner who is ultimately tough to tackle.
Davis had a solid showing at the NFL Scouting Combine, setting times of 4.61 seconds in the 40-yard dash, 7.00 seconds in the 3-cone drill and 4.18 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle. He also put up 17 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press and added a 34-inch vertical leap and a 116-inch broad jump.
