With the No. 101 overall pick, the New England Patriots selected defensive lineman Trey Flowers of Arkansas. Flowers was a second-team All-SEC player in both 2014 and 2013 and is a three-year starter for Arkansas.
NFL Draft picks 2015: Trey Flowers goes to Patriots in 4th round
The Patriots get a versatile defensive lineman with a high motor.

Flowers has a lot of potential as a pass-rusher, and managed 18 sacks and 47.5 tackles for loss in four years with Arkansas. He started all 13 games in 2013, notching 15.5 tackles for loss and six sacks, career highs, and improved each year of college. Flowers has a high motor and NFL coaches love that kind of pass-rusher, meaning he can play entire games and never come off the field.
Of course, he’s still a little raw and needs some coaching. He also doesn’t have a ton of burst off the line of scrimmage, but he’s more a power rusher than a finesse guy anyway. Flowers has a very effective stab move, but he needs to add more to his arsenal if he’s to succeed against NFL tackles.
Flowers was a top performer at the NFL Scouting Combine in February. He was among the best at his position in the vertical leap (36.5 inches), broad jump (121 inches) and the 60-yard shuttle (12.03 seconds). He also ran the 40-yard dash in 4.93 seconds, put up 28 reps on the bench press, did the 3-cone drill in 7.34 seconds and the 20-yard shuttle in 4.40 seconds.
