Washington wide receiver Jamison Crowder was accused of a domestic violence incident allegedly documented on social media. On Wednesday night, a Twitter user posted a screenshot of a post that was allegedly removed from Crowder's Instagram page depicting a woman who claims to have been physically abused by the rookie.
NFL aware of domestic violence allegation involving Washington’s Jamison Crowder
Washington acknowledged that Jamison Crowder was involved in an “off-field situation,” after a deleted Instagram post claimed the rookie wide receiver physically abused a woman. Crowder’s agent denied the accusation.

Crowder’s agent Tory Dandy released a statement denying the accusations.
"His account was hacked," Dandy told ESPN Thursday. "Jamison hasn't hit anybody."
The author of the removed post claimed that she had been choked, thrown, verbally abused and had her hair pulled by Crowder, and suffered a concussion and “bruised, busted lips.”
The NFL and Washington released statements acknowledging the situation. The NFL said it is “looking into the matter.” Washington only said that it is aware that Crowder was involved in an “off-field situation.” Via Fox Sports’ Alex Marvez:
"The Washington Redskins are aware of an off-field situation involving Jamison Crowder. We have been in touch with the NFL office and will continue to follow proper League protocol and assist them in any way we can to gather all of the facts. We will not be making any further comment at this time."
On Friday, Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III also commented on the situation, speaking with WRC4 in Washington.
“We don’t know what’s going on or what’s happening,” Griffin told WRC4 on Thursday night at a charity event hosted by wide receiver Pierre Garçon. “But I just ask everybody to hold judgment. He’s a young kid and we don’t know what the true details of the situation are.”
Griffin added: “We support him as our teammate, and we pray that it’s not true and move on from there. But right now, we don’t know. ...We don’t really much about that situation so it’s hard to comment on it.”
According to the NFL’s new personal conduct policy, automatic six-game suspensions are handed down for domestic violence violations, although more games can be added on for “aggravating factors.”
Crowder was selected by Washington in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Duke. He has reportedly been impressive during offseason training activities. Crowder's Twitter account has been deactivated as Thursday afternoon, according to USA Today.
