Peyton Manning became just the second quarterback in NFL history to throw for 70,000 yards, then threw the game-tying touchdown in the fourth quarter, one of two Broncos touchdowns in the final minute to stun the Chiefs, 31-24 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
Nantz delivers sick burn after Charles fumble

Coughing up the ball in the final minute of the game and costing your team a shot at a win? Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally bad.
Getting burned by Jim Nantz after the fact? Ugh.

John Rieger-USA TODAY SportsBut offenses didn’t really prevail in this one, and after a successful fourth-and-1 was converted and then called back due to a timeout before the snap, the Broncos failed to convert and the Chiefs took over again.
Points weren’t on the board until Denver shot themselves in the foot multiple times on defense. They were called for a pair of unnecessary roughness penalties, which advanced the Chiefs a total of 30 yards. That opened the door for Charles to take one 34 yards to the house for the first points of the game.

With the score tied, 24-24, Chiefs coach Andy Reid elected to run out the clock.
That was a mistake. Just ask this Chiefs fan:

Von Miller was very proud of himself after making a sack.
His mother is probably slightly less proud now that he impregnated a ghost on national television.

Peter Aiken/Getty ImagesManning, 39, needed just 134 yards to reach the mark and was able to accumulate that much by the third quarter on Thursday with a 10-yard pass to Emmanuel Sanders making Manning the second player to ever reach 70,000 yards.
While the 39-year-old’s best days are likely behind him, some of his most prolific seasons have come in Denver in recent years and there are still plenty of reasons to think he has enough in the tank to make the Broncos offense an elite one.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY SportsUNDERDOGS: Peyton Manning and the Broncos are on a 12-0 run against division opponents on the road, one win away from an NFL record. However, they’re 3-point underdogs to the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday night, and the Chiefs happen to be 5-1 in their last six games at home.
EXTRA MOTIVATION: The Broncos defense may not want to hear the Chiefs’ new touchdown song.

Denny Medley-USA TODAY SportsManning did nothing in the season opener to quiet the skeptics who think that the 39-year-old is pretty much done, looking every bit the part of an aging and limited quarterback against the Ravens. His line was ugly: 24 of 42 for 175 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception. Only three times in his career has he averaged fewer yards per attempt (4.4) than he did last Sunday, and his total QBR of 26.4 was his fourth-worst since the stat was introduced in 2006. Manning now has three zero-touchdown games as a Bronco, and all three have come within the past five regular season games.
If there any opponent, however, that might be able to snap Manning out of this funk, it is probably the Chiefs -- or any AFC West team. He is 6-0 against Kansas City since joining Denver and has also never lost a division road game in a Broncos uniform (9-0). Manning is also at his best on a short week. He has a 10-2 career record in Thursday games, completing 70 percent of his passes while averaging nearly 300 yards per game.
