Falcons vs. Cowboys 2015 picks and predictions: Dallas an underdog without Tony Romo

The Falcons are picked to win by seven of eight SB Nation experts.

In the 1990s, the Dallas Cowboys won Super Bowls behind their Hall of Fame "Triplets" -- Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin. Once they were gone, the Cowboys fell on hard times. Suddenly, Dallas is in the same situation once again.

While the Cowboys are 2-0, they have an offensive mess on their hands when they host another undefeated team this week, the Atlanta Falcons. Tony Romo, DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant had huge seasons in 2014, leading the Cowboys to one controversial playoff win and an equally questionable playoff loss, and now they are gone. Murray left for Philadelphia, Bryant broke his foot in Week 1 and Romo snapped a collarbone last week.

Backup quarterback Brandon Weeden has to take over a unit missing its two biggest weapons, while tight end Jason Witten is trying to play through injuries to most of his body.

Both teams have beaten the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles to get to 2-0, but the Cowboys were handed the game by Eli Manning's atrocious clock management. The Falcons are also dealing with a significant injury, as rookie tailback Tevin Coleman will miss the game with a rib injury. Devonta Freeman isn't as strong a runner as Coleman, but he poses a significant threat as a receiver out of the backfield.

Normally, an undefeated Dallas team at home would be an overwhelming force, but seven of the eight CBS experts are going with Atlanta to knock off the reeling Cowboys.

It is just as emphatic with our team at SB Nation, where all experts but one are picking the road team. Only OddsShark is sticking with Dallas.
