The Arizona Cardinals (13-2) have already set a franchise best for regular season wins, and if they increase their winning streak to 10 wins by beating the NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, they will match a record from 1948.
Seahawks vs. Cardinals 2016 picks and predictions: Experts favor Arizona in NFC West finale
Experts think the Cardinals will down the Seahawks in their NFC West rematch on Sunday.
More importantly for the here and now, the Cardinals need to win to have a chance at the top seed in the NFC and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. A win doesn't guarantee them that seed, but if the Carolina Panthers also lose in Week 17, then the Cardinals will get the top seed. Arizona has already clinched a first-round bye and the second seed in the conference.
The Seahawks have clinched a spot in the playoffs, but unlike the past two seasons, they will be a wild card team. They clinched a first-round bye in each of the last two years, and only played away from home in the pair of Super Bowls. They will travel in the wild card round of the postseason, and would like to enter said postseason with some momentum if at all possible.
Seattle already lost to Arizona at home back in Week 10. It was a close game, but the Cardinals won, 39-32, and they are also coming off a tough loss at the hands of the St. Louis Rams in their last game. Prior to that, they won five consecutive games, which included wins over the tough Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings.
As far as experts picking around the Internet are concerned, there aren’t many taking the Seahawks to win. There are some though, as Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports was the only of eight experts picking to go with Seattle. Here at SB Nation, of the seven experts picking, Stephen White and Joel Thorman think the Seahawks will win it. The OddsShark Computer joins the other five in picking Arizona.
