The Detroit Lions are set to hire Bob Quinn as their new general manager, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Lions will hire Bob Quinn as new general manager, per report
Quinn has been with the Patriots for 15 years.

Quinn has been in the league since 2000, when he joined the New England Patriots as a personnel assistant. He eventually made it to pro scout, then regional scout, and then in 2008 was named a national scout. From 2009 through 2011, he was New England's assistant director of pro personnel, and since 2012 he has been the team's director of pro scouting.
That’s a lengthy and successful career for an executive. He’s played a major part in an organization that has won four Super Bowls with him on the staff, even if he wasn’t the man in charge at any point in that time. The organization had to feel strongly about him judging by the steady rise through the executive ranks.
Detroit has a roster with some big-name players like Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson, and they have not done a bad job drafting with guys like Nick Fairley and Ndamukong Suh coming into the organization. Those latter two players have since left, though, and the Lions are looking at a pretty extensive rebuild. Quinn seems more than qualified for the position.
The Lions cleaned house well before the end of the regular season, parting with general manager Martin Mayhew and team president Tom Lewand back in November. Sheldon White took over as the interim general manager, and is now replaced by Quinn. Head coach Jim Caldwell has not been fired, but it’s unclear if his job is safe at this point.
