Eagles vs. Cowboys 2016 picks and predictions: Most experts picking Dak Prescott and Dallas

Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott will duel on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 8.

It's possible the Dallas Cowboys wanted badly to draft Carson Wentz this past offseason. It's also possible they wanted Jared Goff and even possible they wanted Paxton Lynch. Faced with quarterback indecision, they ultimately could not justify trading up and finally selected Dak Prescott. It couldn't have gone better for them.

Prescott has been playing exceptionally well filling in for the injured Tony Romo. Wentz, though, has also been playing well for the Philadelphia Eagles, who sit at 4-2 on the season. The NFC East seems like it will come down to these two teams and their rookie quarterbacks in the end, so Sunday's matchup between the two is an important one.

For Prescott, he’ll want to continue his strong play to perhaps convince the Cowboys not to make the switch to Romo once he’s healthy. Romo is an effective quarterback, but Prescott has so much promise and has the Cowboys out to a 5-1 start to their season. Can he keep it going against a tough Eagles team?

As far as experts are concerned, most are going with Dallas. Over at CBS Sports, all eight of their picking experts have the Cowboys winning it. At ESPN, it’s not a shutout, but eight of their nine experts are picking the Cowboys, leaving just one, Ron Jaworski, picking the Eagles on Sunday night.

Here at SB Nation, it’s a similar spread:

Of the nine experts picking here at SB Nation, five of them think the Cowboys will win, but there are three who think Wentz and the Eagles can pull off what would be considered an upset. The OddsShark computer is in agreement with those picking the Cowboys.

Sunday’s game will be broadcast on NBC and live streamed online via NBC Sports here.
