The Dallas Cowboys are starting to look like the team that the rest of the NFL feared on draft day. Drafting running back Ezekiel Elliott to combine with the best run-blocking offensive line in the league just seemed unfair. That running game was on full display in a 24-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4.

The Cowboys running game is going strong, but they face a stiff test in the Bengals in Week 5.
Now they will be tested against a tough Cincinnati Bengals defense in Week 5. The Cowboys will play host to the Bengals in a game that will kickoff just after 4:25 p.m. ET. It will be broadcast on television via CBS, with a live stream available online via a Sunday Ticket subscription.
Elliott put up 138 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and caught one pass for 19 yards against the 49ers. The Cowboys opened up some truly massive running lanes for Elliott, especially in the second half. They wore down the 49ers over the course of 60 minutes, and they’ll try that against the Bengals.
Elliott is the league-leading rusher with 412 yards through four weeks of play, just ahead of Isaiah Crowell of the Cleveland Browns at 394 yards.
Quarterback Dak Prescott played well once again. The rookie looks like a seasoned veteran at this stage and should be giving his team some doubts as to what it will do when Tony Romo returns from injury. He completed 23 of 32 passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns against the 49ers.
Prescott and Elliott will have to face the league’s 10th-ranked defense overall. The Bengals are 2-2 to start their season, a bad start given how tough the AFC North division is, but they have managed to earn a couple wins at least. They own wins over the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins, but have lost in both of their games against top-tier competition: the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos.
Their win over the Dolphins came in their last outing, so they have some momentum there. Quarterback Andy Dalton played well, completing 22 of 31 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown. But once again he didn’t get much help from his running backs, with Jeremy Hill needing 21 carries to put up just 71 yards.
Defense is where the Bengals stood out, though. They picked off Ryan Tannehill once and held him to under 200 yards passing. The Bengals held the Dolphins as a team to just 62 total rushing yards.
On offense, the Cowboys rank second in the league despite starting a raw rookie at quarterback. The running game wasn’t as good as advertised right out of the gate, but they have picked up the pace considerably in recent weeks and Prescott is being asked to throw the ball more, and further. Prescott looks calm and confident, with the Cowboys trailing only the Atlanta Falcons in total yardage this season.
