Panthers vs. Rams 2016: Start time, live stream, TV schedule, and 3 things to know

Can the Rams get back in the win column against the Panthers on Sunday?

The Los Angeles Rams, at 3-4, are coming off a bye week and hope they can hold off the NFC South's Carolina Panthers. That was a much tougher task a year ago, when the Panthers went 15-1 in the regular season. Now the Panthers are 2-5 on the season and they have absolutely no answers.

The game will be broadcast on FOX, with kickoff set for 4:05 p.m. ET. There will be a live stream available online via FOX Sports GO, though it will require login credentials from a cable or satellite provider.

Ron Rivera was considered potentially on the hot seat prior to the Panthers' success last season. An appearance in the Super Bowl has for-sure extended his time in Carolina, but if the season gets even worse from here on it he'll have some serious questions to answer.

The Rams have plenty of questions too, and few answers. Jeff Fisher seems like he'll get all the time in the world to try and build his team, but as to where it's actually headed ... it's anybody's guess. Case Keenum is still the starting quarterback despite playing horribly. He's taking the Rams nowhere, while first-round pick Jared Goff is still on the sidelines.

The Panthers are coming off a big win over the Cardinals, snapping a four-game losing skid. They have a relatively easy schedule from here on out, though they will face the Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks later in the season. The Rams have lost their last three games, and have tough games against the Seahawks and New England Patriots to look forward to this season. Their last game was a narrow loss to the New York Giants.

Below is all you need to know to watch Sunday’s matchup.

How to Watch Panthers vs. Rams on Sunday

Time: 4:05 p.m. ET

Location: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, Calif.

TV: FOX

Announcers: Kevin Burkhardt, John Lynch, Pam Oliver

Online Streaming: Sunday Ticket, FOX Sports GO

Three big things to know

1. The Rams aren't actually out of the running in the NFC West. As weird as it sounds and as bad as Jeff Fisher's team has looked in recent years, the Seattle Seahawks aren't looking like world-beaters, and the Arizona Cardinals are struggling just as much. Let's not talk about the San Francisco 49ers.

2. Carolina’s collapse isn’t all that surprising. Consider how bad the Panthers were in 2014. When they took a big step in 2015, they were really only one step forward. Now they’ve taken that step backward. They can still right the ship, but they have to win now. Not later.

3. It really doesn’t matter when Jared Goff plays. There are numerous examples in the NFL of quarterbacks who sat for a long time and benefited from it. Now, Goff isn’t exactly learning from Brett Favre in Los Angeles, but if the Rams play him in Week 9 or in Week 17, it’s not going to make that much of a difference. This is not Goff’s year, and that’s clear. It’s not changing any time soon.
