Raiders quarterback Derek Carr dislocated the pinky finger on his throwing hand in last week’s win over the Carolina Panthers. Despite the gnarly injury, he plans on playing in Oakland’s Week 13 showdown against the Buffalo Bills — and he’ll try to do it without the protective glove that helped him finish his last game.
Derek Carr wants to avoid wearing a glove on his dislocated pinky finger against the Bills
The Raiders quarterback plans to take snaps under center despite the injury to his throwing hand.

Carr suffered the injury early in the second half of last week’s win after a routine snap left his finger with extra corners.
The rising star left the game for a series before returning with a glove on his afflicted throwing hand. He completed 11 of his 18 passes with a touchdown pass and an interception after the dislocation. X-rays after the game showed no break, but the injury was just as gruesome as it looked on camera; Carr later told reporters it was “probably some of the most pain I’ve ever felt in my life.”
Carr practiced throughout the week with the glove. His brother, former No. 1 overall pick David Carr, also donned a single glove in solidarity. The elder Carr is an assistant coach at Bakersfield Christian High School.
