A showdown between Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger is a no-brainer prime time matchup. One between Roethlisberger and Brett Hundley is a bit harder to sell. But that’s what they’ll have to do when the Packers and Steelers meet on Sunday Night Football, broadcast live at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC (live stream).

The Packers’ fate rests in the right arm of their backup quarterback after losing Rodgers to a broken collarbone in Week 6. The transition hasn’t been a smooth one; Hundley is just 1-4 as the team’s primary quarterback this fall. He’ll need to overcome a behemoth to get Green Bay back in the playoff hunt.

Pittsburgh has been rolling this season, running out to an 8-2 record and the top spot in the AFC. While the Steelers have been stop-and-go on offense, a dynamite defense has propelled them to the top of their division and a shot at forcing the playoffs to run through Heinz Field. Green Bay, at 5-5, is staring down a long road to the postseason without an upset Sunday night.

Packers at Steelers news:

Baltimore shut out Green Bay, 23-0, exactly 11 years to the day of the last time the Packers had been shut out at home.

It gets weirder, too. The defensive coordinator that led New England to that 35-0 shutout was everyone’s favorite assistant coach/tiny sentence, Dean Pees. On Sunday, the architect behind the Ravens’ defensive effort was ... Dean Pees.

At 9-1, the Eagles are listed as the No. 1 team on Yahoo Sports’ power rankings. The Patriots, Saints, Steelers, and Vikings are in the top five, and all five teams walked away victorious in Week 11. Also, the Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons remain in the top 10.

This is even better design because it uses the tight end on the edge as a de facto lead blocker. Detroit’s defensive end is completely fooled by the front-side zone action and if Lance Kendricks can get a block, this could have been a much bigger play.

Even without good blocking, this is an easy seven-yard gain.

Does the Packers’ offense have a prayer against an ascending Steeler defense?

Green Bay suffered its first shutout loss at home in 11 years last week when the Ravens took them to task in a 23-0 beatdown. Now the Packers have to face a defense that’s been even stingier than Baltimore this fall. The Steelers boast the league’s fourth-ranked unit when it comes to yards allowed. They’re holding opposing passers to a 74.2 rating — the third-best mark in the NFL. That’s bad news for Hundley, who has struggled his way to a 63.3 rating this fall.

Packers at Steelers prediction:
