The fourth annual Kitten Bowl was an instant classic, because, well, it is a scripted event where humans make up the rules and cats run around and climb things. But that didn’t take the fun or adorableness out of an event for a good cause, encouraging viewers to adopt from shelters.
Kitten Bowl 2017 final score: Noodles wins title for Home & Family Felines
Meow.

In the championship game, the Home & Family Felines were able to hold off the Last Hope Lions and win their second consecutive championship. The Lions held the ball with a three-point lead in the final seconds, but fumbled. Practice squad member Noodles ran it back for a touchdown on his only play to win the game for the Felines.
This year’s kitten bowl featured even more cats with NFL player name puns than before. Tony Slo-mo, Tom Bratty Cat, Paw-Dell Beckham Jr., Bobcat Gurley, Hairy Fitzgerald, DeMarco Purry, Mew Brees, and Furry Bradshaw are just a few examples of cat greatness.
Kittens rolled their way into the end zone for touchdowns, climbed a cat post for field goals, and as you could imagine, without thumbs, they fumbled the ball all over the place.
After the pre-game show, four teams competed in the semifinals. Despite a strong lead for most of the game, and having clearly the league’s most dynamic offensive player, T. Wrecks, The Northshore Bengals lost to the Last Hope Lions, 38-35. T. Wrecks had four touchdowns. Can he get better teammates next year? With help from quartercat Mew Brees, the Felines were able to take down Boomer’s Bobcats, 38-27.
That set the stage for a purrfect (ugh) and shocking finale.
