There are so many different things on the periphery of the Super Bowl that wind up being huge news and a business all on their own. One of the most notable is the proliferation of prop bets for just about every conceivable aspect of the game.
Super Bowl national anthem 2017 prop bet: What is the over/under time for Luke Bryan’s performance?
Did Luke Bryan’s national anthem performance go over or under the prop bet time?

One of the more popular prop bets each and every year is the bet for how long the national anthem performance will be. Right now, the over/under is 2 minutes, 9 seconds.
Hope you bet the under. It took him 2 minutes 4 seconds to sing it.
This year, award-winning country singer Luke Bryan will perform the national anthem to open Super Bowl 51 between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots. And in addition to betting on how long the national anthem will be, you can find props for what Bryan will be wearing (blue jeans or some other kind of pants or shorts), whether he’ll be wearing a hat, and whether he’ll omit a word from the national anthem.
Of course, that latter prop became popular when Christina Aguilera skipped an entire verse of the song. But in recent years, singers have not missed words, though Lady Gaga used the word “brave” twice at the end of the song, leading to some controversy as to when the anthem was properly finished.
The average length of the past 11 national anthem performances at the Super Bowl is 1 minute, 58 seconds, and the prop bet carries an over/under of 2 minutes, 9 seconds. Both the over and under are set for -120 on top of that.
Some people take this stuff seriously, and many will be scouting Bryan’s live performances in the past to determine if he’s particularly windy or potentially quick in his delivery.
Two years ago, Idina Menzel went over by three seconds. The previous year, Renee Fleming came in well under. Consistency isn’t necessarily there, but that doesn’t stop tons of people from betting on it.
