Super Bowl 2018 prop bet: Pink’s national anthem performance goes UNDER 2:00

Did you take the over/under on the national anthem prop bet? Either way, we’ve got the results from Super Bowl 52.

Award-winning singer Pink performed her rendition of the national anthem to open Super Bowl 52. Sportsbooks offered a chance to bet on the over/under for the performance, with the total time set at two minutes exactly.

Pink ended up going UNDER, with a time of 1:52. She is dealing with the flu, and one has to wonder if that impacted her performance.

Last year’s anthem, sung by Luke Bryan, was fairly uncontroversial. That has not always been the case. Two years ago, the national anthem prop bet stirred up a bit of controversy, when Lady Gaga repeated the word “brave” a second time as jets flew over Levi’s Stadium. This led to some books paying the over and some others paying the under for the prop bet.

The most controversial anthem performance in recent years was when Christina Aguilera skipped a verse of the song. She was chugging along to hit the over, but skipping a verse brought her well under. Many sportsbooks called her performance a push, while others even elected to refund customers. Aguilera’s performance sparked bets of whether a performer would miss a word in future anthem performances, though that bet stopped when Idina Menzel did not miss any words in her performance a few years back.
