Two days before Papa John’s ended its run as the official pizza of the NFL, Peyton Manning sold his stake in 31 of the company’s locations, according to the Denver Post. He originally purchased the stores in 2012 when he signed with the Broncos.

Manning remains a spokesperson and brand ambassador for the Papa John’s franchise, according to the Denver Post.

The NFL and Papa John’s mutually agreed to split ways in Feb., just months after former CEO John Schnatter cited NFL player protests as the reason for his company’s sales decline. The league announced a new sponsorship with Pizza Hut shortly after.
